The airfield is close to the south boundary of Kirkwall ATZ, keep a good look out for commercial traffic operating low level VFR in the area. Inbound make initial call to Kirkwall. Kirkwall town centre approx 7 miles by road. Italian chapel (hand painted to resemble a basilica by Italian Prisoners of War) is short walk

Width of strip between fencing is 40m, 20m Rwy & 10m each side rough grass. 4ft boundary fence, wooden poles & barbed
wire surrounds AD.
Caution: Turbulence near the quarry.
Noise: Avoid over flying St. Mary’s village 1nm NW of AD.
